LEED for Homes Showcase

May 3, 2009

Thanks to a wide-scale adoption of the Built Green program in this region, use of the LEED for Homes rating system for residential new construction is still somewhat of a novelty. For this reason, we like to give special attention to LEED for Homes projects when they are available for the public to see. Not only because they are usually as green or greener than the highest Built Green rating of 5-Star, but because standard practice is the integration of renewable energy systems, most notably solar photovoltaics or solar hot water. They’ll also look and feel like custom designed homes and include a list of green features that will set your head spinning with ideas.

Amazingly, as spring brings a slight boost to our ailing real estate market, we’ve got not one, but three LEED for Homes projects to showcase. All of which are quite stunning and typically held open to the public on Sundays from 1-4pm by their respective listing brokerages.
